AmeriCorps VISTA Fundraising and Events Coordinator

Summary: Transplanting Traditions Community Farm (TTCF) is part of the Women in Transition VISTA Initiative, a project with TTCF, Benevolence Farm and AmeriCorps VISTA CNCS which focuses on agricultural employment and workforce development strategies as a tool for overcoming poverty. The AmeriCorps VISTA Fundraising and Events Coordinator will help strengthen the organization’s capacity to develop sustainable funding strategies and systems to support Transplanting Traditions’ mission, vision and programs.

    

Qualifications

  • Passion for and understanding of food systems change, food justice and local agriculture
  • Dedication to working as a member of and in partnership with diverse communities
  • Relevant experience with fundraising, including grant writing and event planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills and strong emotional intelligence
  • High proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management
  • Experience with donor engagement and information management
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation
  • Experience building relationships with key stakeholders, funders and partners
  • Prior understanding of and/or experience with the immigration process and resettlement experience and/or sustainable agriculture is ideal
 

Essential Duties

  • Support fundraising committee members from the refugee community and general community
  • Help with the transition to new systems and tools to support fundraising efforts
  • Help the organization achieve short and long-term fundraising goals
  • Monitor progress and provide support with longer-term strategies for fundraising campaigns, solicitation drives, and events

 

Program Benefits: This position is a full-time, year-long volunteer service opportunity starting in the fall of 2022.  AmeriCorps VISTA members are volunteers, not employees, and therefore do not receive payment from TTCF for their service.  As an AmeriCorps VISTA you will receive a monthly living stipend, healthcare benefits (not health insurance), a relocation allowance, reimbursement for job related transportation, and choice of an educational award or service stipend after completion of service.
